This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens

4.0

This book is about two people who were both born on January 1st in the same hospital and they meet when they are turning 30. This is a major slow burn. We go back in time several times and find out they were together lots of times but did not know each other then. So that was kind of fun. Seeing how they crossed paths throughout the years without knowing it. Minnie was supposed to be named Quinn, but the other mom in the hospital stole her name and named her son Quinn, so Minnie's mom didn't feel right naming her daughter Quinn any more. So there is a whole thing about how Quinn stole her name when they meet. I thought it was cute and was wondering if they were actually going to end up together or not since it takes the whole book, but I did enjoy it. I like books where both characters have things they need to work on. Also there are recipes in the back.

"I don't think the scale of other people's problems makes your own any easier to live with."

"I'd like us to be friends. I need more laughter in my life."

"Baking was like a holiday for her head from all the bad stuff."

"Life is change-if nothing's changing, you aren't living."

"Leila used to say that you got the relationship you thought you were worth. If you thought you were only worth part of someone's attention, perhaps that was all you looked for."
