Beat the poetry and storyteller character traits to a pulp. Ophelia annoyed tf outta me for most of the book and Lupe did truly deserve better. Once, you get through the truly exhausting first half or like quarter of the book, the plot AND writing progressively gets better. However, the author relies heavily on flowery language and too long monologues in the later portion as well. Overall, my favorite character was Soleil. One of the characters with the most depth.
