I looked over some of the reviews (on Goodreads) and there are a lot of one stars here, saying Greyson was mean and a bully.
Yeah, no shit. People, it's a bully book. He's supposed to be an asshole. He's probably one of the worst ones I've read, but that kind of means he's great, right? I wanted to dick punch him a few times because bullying and humiliation aren't my kinks, but he's a great bully character. We are supposed to want to dick punch him. I don't get the bad reviews.
Violet is a sweet girl who wants to avoid him and stay out of trouble but he torments her. She could probably make a lot of different choices here, but he's hot and she's kind of a horny girl. I mean, he kind of forces her and I'd call some of it non-con or almost maybe rape, but she's not complaining or turning him in. Her choices are not great, but she's being manipulated by not only Greyson, but several others who are revealed throughout the book.
I like the little mystery in here too. Who is stalking her, who is breaking in, who is writing articles...I was guessing throughout.
The medical stuff was incorrect and it bothered me a great deal. You don't have open exploratory surgery on a tib fib fracture unless you do an ORIF (Open reduction internal fixation) and she said she was thankful they didn't use hardware. You might go to the OR for a closed reduction and casting under anesthesia but there's no scar. And plastic surgery never ever ever ever closes an orthopedic case. The resident or surgical assistant does, and they often do such a nice job that it looks like a plastic surgeon did it. This is something that could have been written correctly by just asking an RN who works in surgery. 5 minutes of research could have prevented me from this rage lol. No I'm not ragey, just irritated.
The audio was really good. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorites. I've never listened to Heather Firth, but she has a sweet voice that sounded young enough for a college student and she did the different voices well.
Can't wait for the rest of the series.
