This book was an interesting experience. The fact that this was historical fiction based on the letters of a real person was such a unique premise and really elevated the story. However there were quite a few moments in the story that made me uncomfortable to read, like when the author would randomly describe something in more detail than necessary. Overall, I was able to look past those bits and get drawn into this world and experience Eliza’s struggles as a woman in the 1700s. This book made me absolutely furious and sad in the best way and I enjoyed reading it.
