Blink by K.L. Slater

5.0

Blink by K.L.Slater is a a gripping fast paced psychological thriller with great twists and turns.

Tori Cutter lost her husband tragically in Afghanistan and finds it difficult to cope with day to day activities and resorts to sleeping pills. She and her five-year-old daughter Evie move closer to her mom in Nottingham for a fresh start. In a financial crutch, Tori finds a job at a real estate company, meanwhile Evie finds it difficult to cope in her new school. One day Tori is late picking up Evie from school and faces a mom’s worse nightmare. Evie has disappeared and no one knows anything. For years Tori gets blamed by the media and judged by other people for being a bad mother. But she hasn’t given up hope and will keep searching till Evie is found.

The story goes back and forth between “Three years earlier” and the “Present Day”. The characters are very well developed and one cannot help but feel for Tori. The book is full of twists and turns which keeps you guessing throughout. It is a cleverly written, fast paced, psychological thriller with a surprise ending.

Many thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest and fair review.
