This is the story of Jess, who arrives in Paris to reconnect with her brother Ben — only to discover he’s gone missing under suspicious circumstances. As Jess searches for answers, the story unfolds through multiple character POVs, which ultimately slowed the pacing and made it hard to stay engaged.
The first half lacked real tension, and it wasn’t until the final 15–20% that the plot finally picked up speed. By then, it felt too little, too late. I struggled to feel invested in Ben’s disappearance — we’re told to care, but never really given a reason to.
