Pros:
The main strength of the Ascendance of a Bookworm books are their progression. They're only 300-400 pages long, but each book's start and end feel drastically different. It happens subtly, slowly building and going further. Before you realize it, the situation has changed quite a bit.
Part 2 Volume 1 has some great humor as well, with multiple times it got a good chuckle out of me, although this is shared by the other books as well.
I liked that it sprinkled in what I assume was the start of a larger plotline withthe taue fruit being able to drain mana . I'm excited to see how that will continue to develop.
Neutral:
Lutz's family situation managed to provide an unconventional yet effective climax to end the book, although it was not quite as memorable as some of the prior books.
