wrote down a lot of thoughts that I hope to develop into a more cohesive review, but this was incredible.
The exploration of grief and pain, and the connection between humanity and the wilderness, was explored in such a profound way. The hold that trauma has and the seeming inability to escape it alone, and the importance of connection, I'm truly just in awe at how well this book captures all these difficult emotions and frames them in such a comprehensive light.
The bond between Inti and Aggie was so gorgeous to witness.
The conversations around conservation and humanity's place in nature are so important. So often we distance ourselves under the guise of "not interfering" with nature, as if we are not also part of it. There were also some beautiful discussions on rewilding and everyday things that people can do to make a change.
