I absolutely loved watching Jo and Patrick find their way back together in this story. Even as little kids you could feel the magnetic pull they had toward one another. The path to love is rarely ever straight and easy and Jo and Patrick had to really work to get their HEA.
Every girl who works hard to mask and shield others from their hurt & pain will deeply understand Jo. She reminds us itβs okay to not be okay. Her inner monologue was so dang funny and had me chuckling so many times.
Patrick. Oh Patrick. Heβs a masculine man who knows how to be so soft and gentle. He carries with him the kind of strength to be able to holdup Jo when she needs it. But he also carries the weight of the world on his shoulders and Jo helps him to let go of that just a little.
This story was filled with flawed characters all working to heal in some way. A few had to learn to take responsibility, some needed to forgive, others needed to learn to let people in. These are my favorite kinds of romance stories, ones that are filled with real life issues all looking for their HEA!
Graphic: Panic attacks/disorders
Minor: Death of parent
