The Favorites by Layne Fargo

2.0

Would've been a 5 star read but it felt a lot of tell-not-show in some areas and the character's motivations often felt forced. Even if it was a bit repetitive, I had faith and kept holding out. This wasn't tough because it was honestly  a breeze to read. And then came the final fourth of the book, where it got so soap-drama-y and over the top it lost me.

the book COMPLETELY lost me after the cheating + random pregnancy. A random pregnancy that took place AFTER Bella told Kat she quit sleeping with Heath? Yet Heath NEVER apologized any of it!
AND THEN... Fargo takes away all of Kat's ambition and resolve for her to fall over and give up her dreams for that mess ??

I always loved the characters in Carrie Soto even if I didn't agree with them, but no one in this book was enjoyable or fun.

UPDATE: it's so bad i didn't even realize it was modeled after Wuthering Heights till someone else told me
