I picked up this collection off the cover alone and I'm glad I did. There's no great plot or story within these pages but the true gem is how Ottessa illustrates her rather flawed yet relatable characters. No hero's journey or coming-of-age stories here. Just snapshots of human emotions, actions, and consequences.
