Beware of Pity
by Stefan Zweig
slow-paced
I have mixed feelings about this book. The writing was good—Zweig makes you both feel for and hate the characters he writes. You feel angry at the protagonist for most of the book which usually means it’s good writing imo. Did a great job at writing all the juxtaposing themes re:pity. The only beef I had with the book is that it felt never ending. I think it just started dragging in towards the middle. By the time I hit the half way mark, it felt like the pages kept going and going. It felt dense at some parts.
