chaotic and spoiler-filled review ahead!!

"I might not remember you, but you're my wife now. Mine. And I'd bathe this whole city in blood before I let you change that."

This book was painful from the start but I was living for it tbh
I haven't read much of the amnesia trope before so I was a little confused at the very start of the story but this was actually done so well I really liked it.

Zephyr having this connection to Alpha's mum is so insanely serendipitous like they're so kismet!
The alfajores story was so cute too, and Alpha's nickname being connected to this memory that both Alpha and Zephyr share with his mother is so sweet.

Zephyr being young Alpha's sunshine and adult Alpha's rainbow I DIE

ALPHA WITH THE "MY WIFE" LINES AHHHHH

The fact that Alpha doesn't remember his previous life with Zephyr but then there's these little things like the Jeep that are connected to her without him knowing UGH IT HURT SO MUCH TO READ THAT.

'She loved that he let her see him like that, at what he felt was his ugliest. Idiot man. His ugly was her beautiful.'

It felt so achingly painful to see Zephyr have so much hope of being able to rekindle her love with Alpha, and of possibly awakening his memories of her, and to see that hope slowly dwindle and die was heartbreaking. I love how hard he worked to help her through it once he realised everything, and that he didn't give up when she was at her lowest.

Zephyr and Alpha's dynamic was just so fun at times. This big grumpy man and this sunshine, teasing woman who manages to get under his skin like no one else - Zephyr's a badass and takes no shit and I love how unapologetically herself she is, and even though Alpha has become so hardened over the years since she's known him, he still has a spot for her whether he remembers it or not.

"I just want you to know I'm really glad she had a good life, that she had you. She was loved, and she knew that."

I love Zenith and Zephyr's relationship, and how protective Zenith is of Zephyr where Alpha is concerned. Even though I had my suspicions about her background I was so surprised by the ending of this book and her storyline, I was legit in tears when Zephyr was holding Zenith in her arms neither of them deserve this! HECTOR WHEN I CATCH YOU ...

"Remember when I told you my heart was a dead scar tissue? ... I feel it pumping again with you. My lifeblood. My little rainbow."

I love the DanteAmara and TristanMorana cameos. Dante and Alpha's brotherly banter coming through was so fun and sweet - Alpha's been alone for so long, and seeing him find a family in Zephyr and Dante is one of my favourite things in this book because he deserves to have family <3
Dante in his girl dad era is my favourite, and Tristan and Morana with Xander too!

"the grey won't be forever."

Y'all I was going THROUGHHHH ITTTTT with this book I swear my heart was aching in my chest every other chapter at least but Alpha and Zephyr's story is so good, despite all the pain they have gone through and continue to go through in this book. The underlying, connected plot was once again done so well in this book - I think it was done the best in this book honestly - and I'm looking forward to their big epilogue in the final book and seeing how it all wraps up for them.
