It was okay. Wasn’t blown away.
It had some really emotional moments but I won’t be thinking about these characters after finishing.
It took me a while to like Jack but I eventually did.
One big flaw is that there was not an epilogue. I know this is a series of standalone’s but I very much dislike books that don’t include a look into the future. It’s a bookish pet peeve
If in a description it’s said that the book can be read as a standalone. That’s what should happen. Not having to read the whole series to get the full story. It can’t be read as a stand-alone then.
Especially if this is the end of the couple as the main characters.
It’s one of my favourite things about reading romance is to see the couple in the future truly living their happy ever after.
Without one it leaves me feeling incomplete and the story incomplete.
A lot of loose ends which could have been explained with a few more chapters and epilogue.
This also had a lot of classic tropes.
Trigger warnings- Mental health ( Bipolar Disorder) Drug abuse and Overdose.
