The Wish
by Nicholas Sparks
Genre(s): contemporary fiction, romance
Theme(s): teen pregnancy, flashbacks
Award(s): Goodreads Choice Award: Nominee for Best Fiction
Recommended for ages: 16+
Summary: Renowned travel photographer, Maggie Dawes, is coming to terms with her diagnosis of cancer. As she is forced to spend one Christmas at home, she finds herself telling her life story to her new assistant, and reliving her past and her choices that still haunt her.
Review: I liked this story a lot! I connected with the characters and enjoyed their development over the story. This is probably a new one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books. I really enjoyed learning about Maggie simultaneously through her past and her present, and her haunting and utterly sweet love story.
Recommended for fans of: The Notebook, The Best of Me
