this book was the text that we worked with in ariana brown’s poetry manuscripts class. some of these poems really resonated with me and some really didn’t. i think part of that is my own disillusion with the stories and narratives  the u.s. and lots of americans tell about this country. and the fact that i haven’t seen myself as a part of this country for a really long time at the point of reading this. really felt affirmed & validated by the rage throughout this work as revelations & realizations are had. very cool things happening with language & format ~ specifically in “presidential order.”
