I'll be honest, I can recognise thst this book absolutely had its intended effect on me. Its shattered Me completely emotionally and I feel heartbroken
But the book has a major issue thst prevents it from getting 5 stars, and that is the altogether too graphic depictions of suicide, mental health problems and self harm. Hanya strips back any decimation around the issues, but kind of ultimately fails to give the subjects the sensitivity they deserve. Its not to say that books can't be graphic about their depictions of these things, but it needs major delicacy that I feel Hanya just doesn't have, and seems to lack sensitivity.
