Divergent by Veronica Roth

5.0

While Divergent and The Hunger Games share the themes of a dystopian society, poverty and impressive survival skills - that's where the similarities end. Tris is everything Katniss is not: small, weak and ravaged completely with self-doubt. That is, until she must survive her new life in Dauntless or risk becoming factionless. Veronica Roth has created a female heroine who divergent - selfless, honest, strong, kind and intelligent. The first person narrative makes Tris relatable on a personal level that draws the reader's attention; Tris is magnetic, and by the end, you will just like she does - exhausted and ready… for Insurgent. You won't want to stop (I re-read this the DAY after I finished it).
