Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green, David Levithan

3.0

I didn't love this, but it was fine, an easy, light read.
I didn't care for either of the Will Graysons, they were both so moody and angry, and didn't seem to care about anything or anyone. Will #2 struggled with depression, as well as his sexuality, so that was understandable, but with Will #1 being so moody and indifferent and uncaring it felt like the characters were too similar.
Tiny was the best character, he was flawed but interesting, but I swear every second line was a fat joke. I guess this is realistic in that teenage boys may think about and pick on someone's weight, but it seemed to be a huge focus in the book, like every time either Will spoke about Tiny that had to mention how huge and fat and overweight he is. So, I hated that.
I've seen people say that they hated that Will #2 's chapters were all lower case, but I thought that was important to distinguish between the two Wills so it wouldn't be confusing.
The end was cheesy, but not in a fun rom-com way, it was just kind of ridiculous and didn't feel meaningful.
In conclusion, it was interesting to read something written by two different authors, it had a very angsty teenage boy vibe, and it was an easy read but not very fun. If you're looking for something feel-good that's not full of fat jokes then this isn't for you.
