Read this book on a whim in honor of AAPI month. The vibes reminded me so much of XOXO, Kitty since it's set in a boarding school.  Although this is a YA book, this didn't feel too young to read, which is good. Did not love the "cheating" aspect to the story but it didn't fully ruin the book for me. The one thing I liked most of the book was second generation struggles of doing what you love v. doing what your parents want you to do. And I liked how it didn't end fully on a happy note, but more a realistic note. I did read lots of Asian American YA stories with a similar plot, but I think this book did a great job capturing it. I don't think I'll continue the series to be honest, but I am glad I picked up the book!
