I was not expecting some of the events in this book to happen so early in the series, and I could have used less fighting between Violet and Xaden. I also fully understand why people think this book felt rushed and under-edited; some things definitely felt like half thoughts and liked they needed deeper elaborations, while we continued to be bashed over the head with how in love the 2 main characters are. But it was still a captivating story overall and I’m sad I have to wait to find out what happens next!
