Delirium by Susan Kaye Quinn

4.0

This was a very imagination and enjoyable read. I like the world Quinn is creating, and the concept of the Debt Collectors is a fascinating one. I'm eager to see that fleshed out more in future installments--which isn't to say that the description here is thin, because it isn't. It's just an intriguing concept that left me wanting more detail, a clear sign that Quinn is onto something with her serial.

Delirium is a strong character. I got a good feel for what motivates him and what his life is like. His interactions with Elena are especially vivid. Quinn does a nice job of hinting at the toll Lirium's job takes on him without devolving into pure angst. Her deft writing makes the situations Lirium faces feel pressing and tense without being melodramatic.

Overall, quite well done. I'm anticipating the next installment.
