Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

5.0

Ah! I loved this!
One of my most anticipated reads for years, and I loved every second. Found myself laughing out loud a few times with Poirot's carry on. I didn't expect the level of comedy, as well as the harrowing nature of the backstory.
There is obviously some depictions that wouldn't fly under the publishing radar today but it's not as bad as some people seem the think. There are some racist characters but the narration isn't racist and most importantly, it has no bearing on the case itself.
I listened to the audiobook, which I highly recommend. I can imagine certain parts seeming dry on the page. Either way, it's a great mystery (even when pop culture kinda ruins the end for you, all the nuance is missed in references).
