City on Fire by Don Winslow
1.0
The best I can say about this book is that it was a quick read. Otherwise, aside from being the only novel I’ve read that is set in Rhode Island, I didn’t get much from it. It needed more depth, more detail.
I’m not reading this author for deep literary merit, but I do have expectations. The cartel trilogy covered the Mexican drug trade from so many angles, from the narcos and various law enforcement agencies to the journalists and victims. The plots were intricate and interesting. This is my last attempt to find books by this author that rise to that level.
