This was a totally cheesy but cute holding rom-com. Just what I needed to read right before Christmas. The brother’s best friend trope was a lot of fun. I loved the witty banter between Lauren and Will. Also the message of giving and finding grace and second chances was perfect for the holiday season. The theme of one character hating Christmas seems to be a favorite of mine this year. Lauren hates Christmas, really all holidays and when she has no way to get home besides a road trip with her brother’s best friend she really hates that most of all. But why she hates it, Will Sinclair broke her heart and he doesn’t even know it. Will is the typical gorgeous jock, frat boy, relentless flirt, and in Lauren’s mind hasn’t changed one bit. As they make their way from California to Illinois Lauren finds old feelings creeping in and does everything she can to stop them. Will has made his share of mistakes and this trip is about righting those mistakes and also discovering that his feelings towards Lauren are no longer looking at her like his best friend’s little sister.

The writing was great, I loved the story telling and the character building. The tension between Lauren and Will was well established. It had me laughing out loud and even choking back some happy tears at the end. A quick, easy, festive read!
