Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern
4.0

I have never felt so frustrated reading a book! It was "pleasure" torture! A classic case of lovebirds with bad timing again. and again. and again. and again. and still again... (omg, you guys, rigorous honesty! but I guess the story would have ended on page 2 if they did that...)

This is not a new story arc, it's that painful "romeo and juilet-esq" star-crossed-lovers-soul-mates modern chickylit-like love story... YOU KNOW THE KIND IM TALKIN' ABOUT. It's also the main soul food of most TV dramas with a male and female lead (Bones, for example)

If you like those kinds of romances, this is a great choice. Rosie (and friends) are adorable and so likable! They all feel real, like people you know. I've taken to these "real life" stories, although this one does start to border on "dis2much" towards the end.

This is also my second novel this year where the story is told 100% by reading texts, emails, letters, or messages between characters. I have only "read" via audible this way, but I love this style of modern storytelling! It reminded me of "Attachments" by Rainbow Rowell which is a top 10 for me this year (still!). It's very likely going to be #1 on my love story list.

My *only* complaint is the "bad timing" thing has a limit and this book, like most books (and TV shows that feed on sexual tension between the main characters) it gets old and you actually stop caring. It reminds me of a baseball game I went to... after 18 innings you just want it to be over, you don't even care who wins anymore.

Until around 70% I could not put this book down or stop thinking about it. Then I needed a break... because... well, I was aggrivated LOL.
