"I see you, Layla Dupree. Clear as day. I always have."
Layla and Caleb are so sweet. Layla's been on a string of particularly bad dates, and Caleb thinks he's "too much for some people," so they agree to practice date. She'll get to go out with a good man, and Caleb will get some pointers on his dating game. It's just for a month. What could go wrong? Spoiler: they could fall in love.
BK Borison does a great job of building friendships as her characters fall in love. It's so believable. I love that the town of Inglewild is a character by itself - the people in it are distinct, but as a whole they create a level of chaos that's always fun.
And the narration was amazing! I loved Pippa and Julio!
Tropes: he falls first, practice dating, golden retriever hero, small town, innapropriate use of the town phone tree, so many baked goods
