WOAH! This was crazy!!!
I’d heard about this series for a while, and knew I’d be getting into some deep stuff, but wow! I didn’t really know anything other about this book other than it was about some darker topics, so color me surprised when it was all about a made-up sport!!
The action scenes were so intense and interesting, and the gameplay was so fun to read, captivating, and well-paced!
I absolutely loved the characters as well. They are all so interesting, and I loved trying to figure out everyone’s motivations and worldviews. All the characters are so different, yet similar in some regards, and the in-fighting, tension, and teamwork was sooo well written.
Also the plot of this book was paced well, and there were so many unexpected moments and twists and turns. I feel like even though there weren’t so many big events, that made the story work so much better, since you were really able to get more and more out of the character as they were introduced and as they reacted and behaved in certain scenarios. There’s still so much mystery left with all the characters, their backgrounds, and what’s going to happen next, and I’m eager to continue to the next book!!!
