The ending to 'The Dead' was quite good. Its beginning epitomised what I found boring/disenchanting about Dubliners, meanderings of titular city-goers that ultimately often just felt underwhelming.

The heart of certain stories was in their imagery. 'Araby' was quite picturesque in its world building. The last bit of description of Gabriel's desire in 'The Dead' was good. The silk dress threads touching the floor from the chair it was draped over.
