Lights Out by Kayla James
3.0

Lights Out by Kayla James takes you on a ride through the fast-paced world of Formula One racing, where the sparks fly both on and off the track!

This book touches on many tropes, delivering them in a rapid-fire pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The undeniable chemistry between F1 veteran Ryder King and the new hot shot Blake Stone is palpable from the start.

What I enjoyed most about Lights Out was the realistic dialogue that felt like genuine conversations between friends. Blake and Cassie's banter is relatable and adds depth to their characters. Plus, can we talk about Cassie's story? Kayla James sets up a perfect narrative there that has me eagerly anticipating her book!

While there's definitely some instalove between Blake and Ryder, it's sweet and adds to the charm of their relationship. Watching them navigate the challenges of F1 together, especially with her being a female racer on his team, was both exciting and heartwarming.

One minor issue I encountered was the pacing, as everything seemed to unfold at breakneck speed. However, this didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Overall, Lights Out is a cute and engaging read with no third-act breakup (thankfully!), making it a satisfying journey from start to finish.
