A very select crowd will be quite offended by this book. I will be there to watch them squirm.
forewarning: anyone who gets into this expecting a high-octane fantasy piece will be sorely disappointed. it reads like a historical record read in first person first, then third perspective in the footnotes. i probably wouldn't want to recommend it to people who are looking for an action-packed fantasy with rich world building filled with magic. it's heavy on the political intrigue and less on the action.
