One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle

This was a blind date book and honestly, I would not have picked it had I read what it was about first. However, watching Katy navigate grief and self discovery through the lens of meeting her younger mother was very interesting. Having lost my own mother to breast cancer at a young age, I found myself wishing that I could have some of the conversations Katy had with her mom, Carol. Such a freeing experience it would be to ask one more question, and get to know your mom when she was your age, while being your age.
