I was really loving this book until about 2/3 of the way through. I felt I lost the sense of found family established at the beginning and French started annoying me a lot.
The happy gay reunion at the end made me smile though
However, I found the world Dimaline set up to be intriguing and heartbreaking, and I appreciated learning more about Native culture.
