Needless to say, I went into this book hating it. The friend who bought it for me DNF’d it two pages in, and BookTok was tearing it to shreds. It took me a while to really get into it, maybe about 30% of the way through.

- Spoilers ahead -
I was annoyed with Lucy for a long time. How all she did was go on and on about this guy she met in college. And kept mentioning disaster and 9/11. All the what-ifs when she was with another guy, later married and had kids. And how all she did was keep asking Gabe questions after every chapter… but then it all made sense. Holy sugar honey ice tea. This book was so beautiful and raw. Honest. Full of love and hurt. I just wish we heard more from Gabe. The synopsis on the back made it sound like it would come from both pov’s but alas, it did not. But again, it made sense in the end.
