Dreadnought: Britain, Germany, and the Coming of the Great War by Robert K. Massie

informative slow-paced

4.0

An enjoyable read that explores the political backgrounds of and the relationship between the British Empire and its German counterpart before WWI. Massie's background a biographer really comes out here, as many chapters begin by introducing a new historical figure and drawing their family background, education, early career, etc. And in typical Massie fashion, this book has a way too orthodox, uncritical view of history.
