Initially, I saw this on KU because the cover grabbed my attention, but I put it off to the side for another book. Then I saw it recommended in a Facebook group and took it as a sign that I needed to read it. And I am so glad that I did.

This was really good. I usually don't read paranormal stories, but I enjoyed this one. I really liked Layla. Even though my heart broke for her, she was an integral part of this book. The bond between her and Gale was so strong and so sweet, yet heartbreaking. I wasn't a big fan of Rachel and wasn't a fan of Jon at all. It was like he didn't even care.

I will admit, I did not see the twist coming. When I say I was shocked!

Some things that I disliked was Gale was only 10 years old, yet he was able to come up with a major plan on how to find his sister's killer. Realistically I don't think a 10-year-old would be able to do that. Another is I felt like the ending was rushed.
