Somehow this was too slow and too fast? The characters go from the “I hate everyone and everything” to the “I hate everyone but I love you” with the speed of a fantasy novel of fated mates… but without that sort of explanation or story to get us there. Once we were there, it was great. It centered around one short timeframe for most of the content, then jumped forward in a way that felt unnatural - but the middle was absolutely solid and lovely. 3 stars for the middle.
