Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls by Ann M. Martin

5.0

I'm loving this. I get relive with childhood and go gacknto simpler times. This was a series I looked forward to and begged my parents to take me to the bookstore to buy the newest book, even getting the store to pre order them for me. Ah the days before Amazon. In book two we follow Claudia. After the girls discover a man named the Phantom is on the loose they become frightened he will come to Stoneybrook. He calls the house to make sure no one is home then robs them. Of course he goes for millionaires but that doesn't stop their fears. Compounding them the girls mainly Kristy and Claudia begin to get mysterious hang up calls while on baby sitting jobs. This results in what was as a teen, terrifying and as an adult hilarious actions by the girls. From rigged burglar alarms set off by dogs, to a secret code no one can seem to remember it's all quite amusing, even to the girls themselves in the end. This book had a good Halloween vibe perfect for this time of year, there is even a Halloween dance. I have to say with each book I love it more and more nostalgia is a good thing sometimes and I look forward to the next one.
