A page turner. A murder mystery. A commentary on racism and racial injustice in America, particularly the south. A reckoning on slavery and the four hundred year buildup toward justice. A critique on current political realities. An absurdist comedy. A Great American Novel.

This is the first Percival Everett novel I've read and I cannot wait to read more of his works; this one was simply astounding.
