so….. this is unironically one of the best books i’ve read this year.

listen, i didn’t expect to learn so much from a book titled space junk, but here i am!! everything about this was so good—it was incredibly well written, heartfelt and funny, cheesy and ridiculous but only in fun ways. the characters were endearing, the romance was sweet, and i had an absolute blast reading it.

technically, i can’t say where i work in this review, but let’s just say my work environment is remarkably similar to jackie’s. and everything about jackie’s work—which was a much bigger focus than i expected—was so accurate in a way that made me so stupidly happy. even the little throwaway details were spot on, and while i can’t speak to the accuracy of the science, it just all felt familiar and homey. usually, i can’t stand reading books where a main character is a lawyer or otherwise has a similar career field to me, because without fail the author gets something wrong, big or small, and it gets on my last nerve. it’s so obvious here though that someone close to the author (her husband, in this case), actually had nasa experience and i loved seeing all those little nods to it.

anyways! i will be reading the rest of this series asap and i will be recommending this to literally everyone, unprompted.
