I don’t really know what I expected going into Lone Women, but I can say I have ended the audiobook feeling slightly disappointed. The opening of this book was so intense and I was hoping the remainder of the book would have that same energy, but it didn’t. I found every side plot and group of side characters to be so hard to keep up with. I love a side quest in a book, but there were toooooo many in this one. I also found the middle to drag on. The prose was really good and I did like Adelaide as a character. The mystery of her trunk was also very intriguing but yeah….this was pretty disappointing.
