Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
5.0

In 2013, I first picked up Eragon after having it recommended and lent to me by my aunt. Now, six years later, I finish the last book and I'm overwhelmed with just joy, excitement, and loss. This series were the first ever books to start me on my habit of bringing novels to classes in school and reading them instead of doing extra work.

These books brought more than another world to life, but brought something to life in me that has gone for sparks to a raging flame - one that I know can never be truly burnt out. Since page 1 of Eragon I have never since been able to call any other genre but fantasy my favourite - especially if it has dragons.

To have travelled so far with Eragon and Saphira, it really does feel like you're losing close friends when you finish that final page.

I cannot say how much these stories mean to me, and I don't think I could ever thank Christopher Paolini enough for having shared it with us all.

I hope I can one day write a book series even half as good as this.
