Skyla and Beckett were SO cute together! I thoroughly enjoyed their romance but when he yelled at her dance partner & her family for talking negatively about her body and weight in relation to being a professional dancer? I was feral! YOU TELL THEM! Beckett was the absolute perfect match for Skyla after all she's been through with her stalker. He was so cautious to make sure she felt comfortable, but never took it too far to treat her like a breakable doll. Skyla overcame so much & was the perfect inclusion in the Bitterroot Valley!
But if I'm being honest, Riley was the star of the book. He was such a good boy throughout the entire book but I was ready to throw my headphones across the room when the big conflict scene of the book took place. It definitely felt like I needed a warning for that 😠but I promise you: he is perfectly fine by the end of the book.
P.S. I absolutely *hated* his nickname for her with a fiery passion. Please tell me what's supposed to be cute about using her nationality as a nickname because I don't get it.
Connor Crais and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker narrated the audiobook and did a fabulous job! They made the book feel like it was happening just down the road from me instead of in a fictional town in Montana. I couldn't have picked a better pair of narrators for the audiobook!
