This book took me months to read! It is so gruesome and horrific that I could only handle small doses. Fantastic speculative fiction of society turning to organized cannibalism. Struggled a bit with the present tense and blurred transitions of the prose.
Graphic: Violence, Cannibalism
Moderate: Animal cruelty, Body horror, Child death, Confinement, Death, Gore, Miscarriage, Rape, Self harm, Sexual assault, Slavery, Suicide, Terminal illness, Excrement, Vomit, Dementia, Trafficking, Cannibalism, Medical trauma, Abortion, Murder, Pregnancy, Pandemic/Epidemic
