This book was really disappointing as it had so much potential and it was just wasted! I thought it would have a lot more to do with scents and perfumes being used for magic but it just wasn't! It is also obvious that there is this huge world with its own religions and politics and could be really fascinating but we get like no background on any of it and not much description of the places making it very confusing. The characters were boring and I just couldn't connect with them at all. The plot was also boring and I found myself just reading it so it would be over! The ending did get a bit better but the cliffhanger was predictable and I doubt I would continue the series. Overall it was just to boring and confusing.
