The God Desire by David Baddiel

3.0

I adored Jews Don’t Count so I felt this fell flat for me.
It had a very surprising lack of pace.
While I realise the topic was meant to be very personal and an insight into Baddiel’s own beliefs - it didn’t have a line of cohesion at all.
I found myself engaging with lots of the ideas and concepts Baddiel brought up - but then I was disappointed by the lack of depth he brought.
It just felt too rushed, even though the foundations were there for a fantastic discussion.
I would’ve rather read a more complex discussion, with more anecdotes etc, than some of the concepts being brushed over and not mentioned again.
I enjoyed the discussion about the Queen at the end and felt that it had some of the depth I would’ve liked earlier.
Still love Baddiel though!
