Meh. Reading this so soon after reading Crystal’s memoir was really funny because often the two were at odds. Holly is funny and lighthearted, but I found portions of this irritating. She really enjoys describing all the other girls as fake/gold digging/unsuccessful/mean and herself as real/genuine/caring/successful. Oh, Kendra’s spin-off show is doing badly? Not Holly’s, Holly’s is doing great. Crystal is rude to Holly? Well Holly is only nice. Production tweaked the show while Holly was on it? Yes, Holly knew all about that. But Crystal said something rude about Holly on the show later? Couldn’t possibly be production or editing, had to be Crystal being rude lol. It seemed like she was very keen on always painting herself as successful and everyone else as bad. Like, girl. You are also here dating a seventy-something year old man hoping he’ll decide to put you in Playboy. I think it’s a little presumptuous to act superior to all the other girls.
I liked this less than I expected. Holly is driven, dedicated, funny, confident, and talented, I’ll give her that. But I ended up liking her less after reading the book, so ¯\_₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎_/¯ Still four stars, which isn’t bad. I’m glad life seems to have worked out for her. After this book came out has been open about having been diagnosed with autism in adulthood and tbh that is something interesting I’d like to read more from her about.
If I’m going to keep reading ghostwritten Playboy memoirs, time to go find Kendra’s
