I’ve been needing a book that makes me think. This book made me THINK!
This author really knew what she was doing. I mean, it was an extremely short book, and managed to pack the most powerful punch. On the surface you’re just talking about a 36 year woman that most definitely has undiagnosed autism just trying to understand why people don’t want her to live a simple life she’s content with.
On a deeper level, it makes you question society. Why DO we have to be angry or upset with jobs and lives that aren’t considered grand or big? I mean, if we really think we’ve found our purpose doing something, if we enjoyed it, but society tells us we need to do more with our lives, should we do it? Should we make the change? In my opinion, no, cause happiness and contentment are two things that make this earth survivable. Even if it’s working 18 years at the same convenient store. Cause if you know your purpose is to be that person that makes someone’s grocery trip livable, then I say, fuck what everyone else says, you’re happy man.
