A book that changes lives? Yawn. In reality, it attempts to be a memoir type book that is really a novel (as the author says) about the lessons learned by Dan Millman. One of the main takeaways is "be in the present now not the past or the future". Dan Millman uses a sage old wise caricature only known as Socrates who teaches the young grasshopper (Dan) they ways of the peaceful warrior. I appreciated some of the lessons distilled by Socrates, but the use of the supernatural hand wavy experiences read more like Dan was under the influence of THC or mushrooms than actual events that occurred. In reality, who knows since it is a novel so what is true vs what is written to provide a message is up for debate. Honestly, I liked it but did not think that it lives up to it's selling point of a book that changes lives. In that respect it fell flat.
