Although this Noel had interesting themes, mainly dealing with loss, in one case of a young boy who had Alzheimer's and died early due to a seizure, the other of a marriage due to an affair, it was by no means as encompassing as her earlier work " still life with Alice". I did feel for both of the women, however neither character was truly identifiable or believable.
